ONE : The New Abundant Energy Revolution & The Power of You

  1. 1. Ray Podder
  2. 2. “I know that most men — not only those considered clever, buteven those who are very clever and capable of understandingmost difficult scientific, mathematical, or philosophic, problems — can seldom discern even the simplest and mostobvious truth if it be such as obliges them to admit the falsityof conclusions they have formed, perhaps with much difficulty— conclusions of which they are proud, which they have “taught to others, and on which they have built their lives. —Leo Tolstoy Opening to Ch 14. Translation from: What Is Art and Essays on Art (Oxford University Press, 1930, trans. Aylmer Maude)

  19. 19. Insanity : Nuclear “At present there is a preponderance of evidence that there is no threshhold dose of ionizing radiation so low that it is safe or such that the risk of damage (even serious damage such as leukimia) is zero” —Karl Z. Morgan Manhattan Project Scientist and Anti Nuclear Activist http://www.ratical.org/radiation/NRBE/NRadBioEffects.htmlFukushima Reactor Fire: BBC.co.uk
  20. 20. Insanity : Centralized Renewables* *Centralized Renewables emit over 2.4 million + tons of CO2 in India and China as well as lose anaverage of 67% in transmission. Not to mention the technologies deployed in Solar and Wind farms are only marginally upgraded technologies from the 1960s! onetherevolution
  21. 21. Insanity* *Photovoltaics are most effective in distributed contexts like solar film and solar thermal for homes and businesses. Generating utility scale power with solar is actually more expensive than current dirty energy methods. Today, solar investments are already tied to dated tech that makes for a great show for investors, but not so much benefit for the rest of us. China’s 54 percent share of the global panel-making market will grow, and we’ll remain locked into older technology.© Dan Forbes via Wired onetherevolution
  22. 22. Insanity**Wind farms disrupt delicate ecosystems andcommunities where they are placed. They use oilto drive the turbines and are already invested onoild and gas for their existence. The noise andvibrations are harmful to the biosphere, and thetech is already old compared to bladeless Teslaturbine inspired solutions at the local level. It’s“Greenwashing” at its best. onetherevolution © Dan Forbes via Wired
  23. 23. Insanity* *Since the obvious negative effects on food production and biodiversity have been well documented with Ethanol, mass produced natural and synthetic Algae production is now the Biodiesel beacon. While more viable local production options from cooking oil to biowaste takes a backseat, the billions betting on large scale Algae futures waste both private and public funds for an yet unclear upside and clearly known downsides for biodiversity and arable land.© Dan Forbes via Wired onetherevolution

  30. 30. Energy was Abundant? Our hearts use only 0.2v to pump over 2000 gallons of blood through its 4 chambers daily. The only battery it needs is a biochemical reaction of Potassium, Sodium and a little bit of Calcium. No wires, no batteries, and no dirty energy plants. We now have the technology to mimic this process and much, much more... onetherevolutionSource: Banner Lassen Medical Center
  31. 31. Tom Broadbent, Inventor Bruce Logan and Younggy Dan Nocera and his of HydroPower in the UK Kim, developed a team at MIT have uses the pressure from microbial reverse developed an artificial existing plumbing in electrodyalysis electrolysis photosynthesis leaf buildings to generate that can generate fuel cell with a nanofilter enough energy to power 10X the storage that can take everyday the pump and then some. within 1/100 of the wastewater and generate volume of commercial unlimited Hydrogen Fuel fuel cell. From inductive charging becoming standard for electric cars to reapplying Tesla coil principles to distribute without wires at the last mile, the gridless grid is real and available now.onetherevolution Image: PopSci
  37. 37. Direct Nanophotonic glass can capture photons by an instant state change from clear to cloudy to power buildings and transfer line of sight to another. One of many nano innovations for energy from nanoholdings.comonetherevolution Image: Nanoholdings

  41. 41. ...and coming soon.. Bio Generation Sean Elliot of Boston University, can use light sensitive pigments into certain heme proteins into darkness dwelling microbes to produce hydrogen fuel.
