  • 2. How was basketball created?
    Basketball was invented in 1891, by James Naismith.

    The object of the game is to out score your opponent by putting the basketball into the basket without creating a foul or a penalty.

    There are five players from each team on the court

    Point guard-Generally the shortest and fastest players in the team.
    Shooting guard-Often these players are the best shooters from longer distances.
    Small forward-these players are often very versatile.
    Power forward-The next biggest player
    Center-Usually the tallest and slowest players on the team.

    There are many more rules. It originally had 13.
    The baskets are not peach baskets like they were in the beginning. Now the basket includes a rim, a net, and a backboard.
    The ball is a basketball, and not a soccer ball.
    The number of players was changed. Originally there were 9 people on the court,
    These days almost every American school has a girl's basketball team and a boy's basketball team. Many schools have different levels and grades.
    The three point line was invented.
    The "three second" rule was added.
    The shot-blocking rule was added.

  • 7. Odds of making the NBA
    The odds of any random individual that takes up the sport of basketball making it to the National Basketball Association are astoundingly small. There are 30 teams in the league with 12 roster spots available, meaning that there are only 360 NBA players at any one time. Here are the factors that make it nearly impossible to make it to the NBA.
