Blubrry Podcast Stats Implementation - Presentation Transcript

    1. Implementing Blubrry Statistics Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    2. Three Simple Steps 1. Grab your redirect url. 2. Add redirect url to your media links. 3. Publish your podcast episode. Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    3. Your Redirect URL 1. Start with http://media.blubrry.com/. 2. Add the Blubrry keyword for your show. 3. You should end up with something like http://media.blubrry.com/metspodcast/. Note: You can also retrieve this url from the Getting Started section of the Blubrry Stats view for your podcast. Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    4. Add Redirect To Media Links 1. Start with a link to your podcast episode. http://media.libsyn.com/media/podcastnyc/NYM-Podcast-69.mp3 2. Add your redirect url to the original link. 3. Copy your final episode media link. http://media.blubrry.com/metspodcast/http://media.libsyn.com/media/podcastnyc/NYM-Podcast-69.mp3 Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    5. Publish Podcast Episode This step will vary depending upon your publishing system. I use LibSyn. I use WordPress or WordPress.com. I use WordPress with PodPress. I use TalkShoe, Blip.tv or Podomatic. I use another publishing system. Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    6. Publishing With Libsyn 1. Upload your media to LibSyn. 2. Copy the enclosure code from the media files tab and replace media link with your redirect url. 3. Return to the publish tab and select 'text blog post' at the top. 4. Fill out show notes then click on the additional options section. 5. Paste the enclosure code in the Extra RSS Tags section. 6. Click publish button. Skip To End Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    7. Publishing With WordPress 1. Copy your redirect url for the podcast episode. 2. Paste that as a link into your podcast episode post. 3. Go the custom fields section and add the link as an enclosure. (N/A for WordPress.com users.) 4. Write show notes and publish as normal. Skip To End Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    8. Publishing With PodPress 1. Select add media file. 2. Select the location drop down and click specify url. 3. Paste the redirect link into the pop-up box. 4. Complete PodPress fields. 5. Write show notes and publish as normal. Skip To End Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    9. Publishing with TalkShoe, Blip.tv or Podomatic The native publishing tools for these services control the links to your media files, including the enclosure in your RSS feeds. In order to use these services with our statistics system you need to take the link to your media files to another publishing system (like Blogger, WordPress or TypePad) and generate your own podcast feed. These rules apply to any service that does not allow access to change enclosure links. Skip To End Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    10. Publishing With Other Systems There are many other ways to publish your podcast and generate a proper RSS feed. Hence it is impossible to cover all of them in this tutorial. In general, we recommend that you place the redirect url in any place where you normally place the link to your podcast media, including direct links in your posts and links to streaming players. Skip To End Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
    11. Other Resources Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn more about the Blubrry statistics system. You can find links to additional resources on our website. http://www.blubrry.com/podcast_statistics/ Copyright 2007, RawVoice Inc.
