    • Cisco 521 Wireless Express Lightweight Access Point
      • Characteristics
        • Up to three APs if managed individually only through Cisco Configuration Assistant
        • Up to six APs if managed through Cisco Configuration Assistant in controller-based mode
        • Only associates with Cisco Wireless Express Mobility Controllers
      • Features
        • Single radio IEEE 802.11b/g
        • Enterprise-class security
        • Industry’s best range and throughput
        • Simultaneous air monitoring and traffic delivery
      • Benefits
        • From secure coverage to advanced services
        • Zero-touch management
        • No dedicated air monitors
    • Cisco 521 Wireless Express Lightweight Access Point (Cont.)
        • Has the same hardware characteristics as Cisco Aironet 1130AG Series AP, with exception of the 802.11a radio and the LED. It has 32 MB of memory with 16 MB of storage
        • Aside from the gray color, Cisco 521 AP has the same mechanical and physical characteristics as enterprise 1130AG Series AP. Operating temperature range of 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C)
        • Integrated and secure mounting system
        • UL2043-rated for placement in plenum areas
        • 521 AP is PoE-compliant and will consume about 10 W
        • 521 AP will only work with Cisco Mobility Express Solution
        • Since there is no 802.11a radio, Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) is not available
    • Cisco 526 Wireless Express Mobility Controller
      • Characteristics
        • Managed through Cisco Configuration Assistant
        • Supports up to six Cisco Wireless Express APs
        • Two 10/100 Ethernet ports
        • Supports only Cisco Wireless Express APs
        • Up to two controllers per network
      • Features
        • Centralized management of users, APs, policies, etc.
        • Automated radio resource management
        • Easy virtual network with up to eight SSIDs/VLANs
        • Mobility management
        • Guest access ready
        • Optimized voice over Wi-Fi ready
      • Benefits
        • Enterprise-level security for client authentication
        • Cost-effective solution for SMB
        • Ideal for data, voice, and video
        • Integration with SBCS
        • Cisco 526 Controller is supported by a derivative of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network controller code
        • It has six-AP capacity support that connects to the CE 500 series switch or any other CDP-compatible switches
        • Cisco 526 Controller works in conjunction with another Cisco 526 Controller to support a max. of 12 lightweight APs or controller-mode APs
        • Cisco 526 Controller does not have a service port for out of band management. Port #1 can be used instead for first time out of box configuration

    • Configuring Cisco 521 APs in Standalone Mode
      • Launch Cisco Configuration Assistant on the PC connected to the switch
      • On the Cisco Configuration Assistant screen choose Connect to a new community
      • Enter the IP seed address of the standalone AP connected to the CE520 switch
    • Configuring the Mobility Express Solution
        • Cisco Configuration Assistant is based on Cisco Network Assistant v5.0 that was already developed for easy configuration of the network devices that support CDP
        • CNA v 5.0 supports all of the Cisco autonomous APs
        • CNA was modified to support Cisco Mobility Express Solution
          • Cisco 521 Wireless Express Lightweight APs
          • Cisco 526 Wireless Express Mobility Controller and controller-mode 521 AP
        • Cisco Configuration Assistant is a free application can be downloaded from Cisco.com
        • Cisco Configuration Assistant installs on Windows systems
    • Cisco Configuration Assistant Configuring Standalone 521 AP
      • The AP shown in the Cisco Configuration Assistant topology view (as shown at right) can be configured by choosing the “Configure” tab
      • It can also be migrated to lightweight mode
      • By clicking on the AP icon you can get AP information, as shown at right
    • Configuring the Cisco 526 Mobility Controller
      • New out of the box Cisco 526 Controller has to be initially configured as described below:
        • Directly connect Ethernet cable from a PC-1 to the controller management port (#1)
        • PC-1 with dynamic IP configured; PC will receive IP address 192.168.1.100 from DHCP server on the controller.
        • Launch web browser to controller http://192.168.1.1
        • The startup wizard web UI will be displayed (URL redirect)
    • Configuring the 526 Controller Both Cisco Configuration Assistant and direct access are possible
    • Summary
        • The Smart Business Communication System is a range of products adapted to the SMB range. It contains the Mobility Express wireless solution.
        • The Cisco 521 AP is a standalone or LWAPP-based 802.11b/g AP, part of the Mobility Express solution.
        • The Cisco 526 Controller can manage up to six Cisco 521 APs in LWAPP mode.
        • There is no upgrade path between the Mobility Express solution and the Cisco Unified Wireless Network solution, though they offer features close to each other.
        • The Mobility Express devices can be configured directly or using the Cisco Configuration Assistant software.
