INTRODUCTION <ul><li>Stikeman Elliott is an international business law firm based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. </li></ul><ul><li>The Firm Started with two lawyers in 1952 and today operates with more then 440 lawyers in Eight offices in Canada, New York, London and Sydney. </li></ul><ul><li>It works in merger and acquisitions, Anti trust, Banking and Finance, Insolvency and Technology. </li></ul><ul><li>It is one of the top business law firm in Canada. </li></ul>

Management Difficulty <ul><li>Pooling huge knowledge from various location </li></ul><ul><li>Lawyers basically takes clue from past judgments mainly so having a common platform was hindrance in a Growth </li></ul><ul><li>Even everybody was compelled to have his own knowledge bank which translates into duplication of the data </li></ul>

Hummingbird Enterprise Webtop. <ul><li>In 2001, stikeman Elliott adopt Hummingbird Enterprise Webtop </li></ul><ul><li>from Hummingbird Ltd., to build a portal for the firm’s corporate </li></ul><ul><li>intranet. </li></ul><ul><li>The portal officially launched in 2002 under the name STELLA. </li></ul><ul><li>With help of this portal firms lawyers have easy access to the </li></ul><ul><li>firm’s knowledge assets. </li></ul><ul><li>STELLA includes an expert Database that identify lawyers with proficiency in specific areas. </li></ul><ul><li>Lawyers can customize the portal’s home page so that they have quick </li></ul><ul><li>  access to the information they need most. </li></ul>

Given below : </li></ul><ul><li>Distributed knowledge resources. </li></ul><ul><li>Stikeman’s Offices, employees, and knowledge resources are distributed in many locations so they are facing problem in sharing knowledge among their employees. </li></ul><ul><li>Unorganized Knowledge System : </li></ul><ul><li>Stikeman Elliott have very vast knowledge reside in the brain of the lawyer, and in the form of text documents, reports, e-mail, voice mail, brochures, but due to unorganized knowledge system they cant get the proper benefit of it. </li></ul>
