    Why?
    Indemnification
If you let others make some decisions, they will be less inclined to complain about them
…and because Sakai is a system used for teaching & learning, so it makes sense to involve those who engage in these activities

Can instructors add guests to their courses?
Can instructors make their courses joinable?

    Editing site titles
Does your SIS determine course titles? Should instructors be able to edit their course titles? What about projects?
Sample Decision: Instructors should edit their course titles as they wish (This is actually kind of a bad idea for some implementations)
    Anand’s begrudging configuration demo

Discussion: What roles do you need in your course sites? What about projects and portfolios? What permissions should each role have?
    Sample Decision:

Discussion: There are three user account types in Sakai: registered, maintain and guest. Which ones are you going to use, and what permissions should they have?
    Sample Decision:
Faculty & Staff will be maintain users, they will have permission to create new project sites but not course sites, and will not have permission to change their account info in Sakai
Students will be registered users, they will not have permission to create any sites, and will not have permission to update their account info in Sakai
Anyone not affiliated with the school will be a guest user. These will be local users and will be allowed to change their password, but not their name and email address

Discussion: What toolset/content should each of your user workspace templates have?
    Sample Decision:
We think the maintain and registered workspaces just need to have Site Search added. We also want to limit the tools in the guest workspace.
