There are so many benefits with higher studies today. GATE is a All India entrance test used for admission for MS/MTECH/Phd in Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs). GRE entrance test is for admission in other countries.

JOB vs PG (M.Tech) • • Job – Max. package: 4.5L • If you joined in InfoXYZ then after 2 years your package will be 4.5L max (No comparison with PG packages) – Easy to crack • Learn C, basics of (C++, DS, OS and DBMS) – Very difficult to get place in Product based companies PG – Average package: 10L (In IITs) – Easy to get placed in Product based MNC companies • Amazon, Google, InMobi and Flipkart …etc (offered >15L for PGs). 10/26/2013 RAJ KUMAR RAMPELLI 4

GATE • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering • All India Entrance Test – Admissions for MS/Mtech(PG) or Ph.D program based on GATE score(1000) • Organized by IISc and 7 IITs • Screening test for getting into IISc/IITs/NITs for PG • Govt. provides financial assistance: 8000/- /month – It will become 12000/- per month next year. • Screening purpose in PSUs • Eligibility: 4th year students 10/26/2013 RAJ KUMAR RAMPELLI 5
