  2. lokAsamasthA sukhino bhavantu: Since the beginning of humanity, this is the central bhAva of all the great sages of yore who attained that real bliss after becoming one with ‘That’, the Creator. They all wished for the remaining all people who are not in the same place, where place they should be. So they prayed for all those people and the common bhAva was sarve bhavantu sukhinaH: sarve santu nirAmayA: This is a prayer and at the same time, a great blessing from a totally pure heart. With this selfless bhAvana a group conceived a great concept in the form of bhAvana, Punarnava Ayurveda and vaidyagrAma – for service of all…. To motivate the suffering people to go back to the source through the great knowledge of Ayurveda, imparted by the ancestors. This is just the beginning of a great & purposeful journey on the path of a great j g g g pp j y p g tradition. . . . Swami Pranavaswaroopananda, Swami Sharanagatananda, Swami Guruprasadananda , January 5, 2009 ( (From Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, who were the first patients in vaidyagrAma and who spent 5 yg days doing much meditation and chanting of mantras to infuse the space with healing energy)
  3. A phase of vaidyagrAma is ready for the world, and the finishing touches are happening now to make the healing space, adhere most to its g g Vision, its cause.
  4. Title • Content The look is natural & rustic, the feel is authentic & comfortable and the experience is of a Green building, ideal for healing.
  5. A complete structure, created by keeping with the norms of green construction. . .
  6. The Thulasi-thara (the auspicious space for Thulasi plant) in front of the block at vaidyagrAma . . . yg
  7. After the first block that was ready by late December 2008, now is time when the second block has also reached completion hen completion.
  8. The flooring in the latest block is done using limestone as well as Kadappah stones from Andhra Pradesh.
  9. The painting is done only above the lintel level, and the walls are left with its natural finish.
  10. A team of local workers have learnt the art of block-making from the skilled workers, who were doing that till now. Now they take care of the block-making to meet the daily requirements for construction. construction
  11. A Bio-kitchen plant is also installed for trial, and it is indeed been successfully used, with the result of fuel-efficiency, time –efficiency as well as f d ffi i food-efficiency. I thi unit, bio-pellets are used f combustion, and In this it bi ll t d for b ti d cooking can happen naturally in the vessel provided for different numbers of people, based on the size chosen. Its’ yellow flame is healthy, and food was cooked well and tastily with this unit.
  12. A Bio-mass cook-stove is also introduced where bio-mass (any bio- degradable waste) and saw-dust/ coconut husk are used for ignition. It is fuel-efficient, fuel-efficient user-friendly as well as cost-effective and healthy healthy.
  13. A herbal mosquito repellant is also being prepared and used, in a combination of cow-dung cake as well as turmeric/ triphala/ sweet-flag & calamus. Wh b t it is effective and k l When burnt, i ff ti d keeps th space clear of the l f mosquitoes.
  14. vaidyagrAma ’s ambience is more pastoral now, and it uses coir-cots too.
  15. The greenery in vaidyagrAma is being nurtured organically with vermi- compost as well as decoction made of tobacco leaf. The seeds are also treated t t d specially with a mixture of cow’s urine as well as cow-dung, f i ll ith it f ’ i ll d for better fertility. An organic product made with neem is also used for seed treatment as well as an insecticide. The sundry climate in December – January affected the growth of many plants; and it was in order to save that, the seedling treatment as well as mulching was done.
  16. The New year saw harvest of green-gram, sesame seeds, horse-gram, Bengal-gram, as well as vegetables like ladies finger, radish, beans, onion, gg g g tomato, drumstick at vaidyagrAma, along with grains like millet, Ragi and even coconuts.
  17. vaidyagrAma has a working kitchen since New Year now; it is to an extent self-sufficient too, & it feeds up to 10 people daily.
  18. The Ayurveda village is getting all set with its right work-force, and hence we have Therapists and House-keeping team building up already – getting trained and equipped t meet th Vi i tti t i d d i d to t the Vision.
