It isincreasing due to globalization and economic crisis, which affects allprofessions, and as well as families and societies, almost all countries of theworld. If stress remains untreated, can lead to a variety of stress relatedillnesses such as hypertension, heart disease, anxiety, depression, memoryimpairment, panic attacks, digestive disorders, autoimmune diseases andchronic fatigue syndrome. The modern meaning of stress was laid by Dr.Walter B. Cannon, a physiologist at Harvard almost 100 years ago. He wasthe first to describe the “fight or flight response” as a series of involuntaryphysiological and biochemical changes that prepare one to deal withthreats of danger. Professor Hans Selye in 1956, first time introducedbefore the public the concept of stress in a medical sense to indicate theoverloading of works on human body. In the 21st century the biggest killeris not AIDS or cancer but psychological problems due to stress.
