Logistics Vs Supply Chain Management <ul><li>Logistics is the part of supply chain management. </li></ul><ul><li>Supply Chain Management encompasses the planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement and all Logistics Management activities. Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers. </li></ul><ul><li>Logistics Management activities typically include inbound and outbound transportation management, fleet management, warehousing, materials handling, order fulfilment, logistics network design, inventory management of third party logistics services providers. </li></ul><ul><li>Supply chain management takes care of the design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the sole objective of creating net value and leveraging worldwide logistics. </li></ul>

Supply Chain Management <ul><li>It is a process of planning, implementation and controlling of efficient flow which start from the origin of the goods and end with the customer satisfaction. </li></ul><ul><li>Get the right product to the right place in the right quantity at the right time, in the best condition and at an acceptable cost. </li></ul><ul><li>So it’s a basically network management between manufacturer and end consumer for timely and cost effective services. </li></ul><ul><li>The supply chain manager is responsible and accountable for overseeing all the steps that make up the supply chain process. Successful managing of supply chain will achieve significant savings and increased customer satisfaction. </li></ul>

Supply Chain Management <ul><li>Consists of all parties involved, directly or indirectly in fulfilling a customer request include not only manufacturer and supplier but also transporter, warehouse, retailers and even customer. </li></ul><ul><li>SCM = Purchasing + Warehousing + Logistics. </li></ul><ul><li>Objective of every supply chain should be to maximize the overall value generated. The value a supply chain generates is the difference between what the final product is worth to the customer and the costs the supply chain incurs in filling the customer’s request . </li></ul><ul><li>Reduced inventory, reduced lead times, reduced warehouse costs, helps in forecast accuracy. </li></ul>

Vendor Management <ul><li>It’s co-ordination with Vendors for their training & education of packaging, documentation and standard process of supply & transportation of goods and also data management of supplies. We should know our vendors as a “Supply Partners”. </li></ul><ul><li>Vendor Training </li></ul><ul><ul><li>a. Related to packaging of goods & documentation. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>B. Training of portal for online creation of advance of shipment notice so that they get inbound numbers and appointment for delivery. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Query resolution. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain the data of issues of Vendor supply’s for analysis of vendor classification and bifurcation in A,B & C type vendors so that accordingly warehouse team can focus for physical checking of vendor consignments & accordingly training to vendors.. </li></ul><ul><li>Share the data of Vendor issues & classification with the Business Team. </li></ul>

Inbound number <ul><li>It has been created for supply from vendors on the basis of stock level & Sales figures and it control the flow of supplies. </li></ul><ul><li>Second step after creation of inbound number is to confirm appointment date for delivery to supply partner which has been decided on the basis of space available in warehouse. </li></ul><ul><li>Daily inbound allotment sheet need to share with the delivery date in advance for the particular day with the warehouse operation team, HO SCM team with the details of vendor name, PO no, qty and number of cartons for planning of manpower for in warding and arrangement of vehicles for distribution. </li></ul>

Performance measurement of Warehouse to maintain service level <ul><li>IRN to GRN ( means physical receiving to system receiving) should be on the same day ( 24 hours) </li></ul><ul><li>Number of Indents / dispatches of orders ( Time line 48 hours from indent date to Goods issue) </li></ul><ul><li>Closer of In transit stocks from warehouse to warehouse, warehouse to store and store to warehouse. </li></ul><ul><li>Time line – With in Zone not more than 7 days </li></ul><ul><li>For other zone – not more than 15 days </li></ul><ul><li>Closer of Commercial queries related to vendor invoices. </li></ul><ul><li>Audit Performance. </li></ul><ul><li>Variance in updation of stocks during cycle count / stock take. </li></ul>
