  3. 3. FOREST<br />1.Forest grow were temperature and rainfall and rainfall are plenty to support a tree cover.<br />2.Depending upon these factors dense and open forest grows.<br />.<br />.<br />

TROPICAL EVERGREEN FOREST<br />1.These forest are also called as tropical rainforest.<br />2.These forest are found in the regions near the equator and close to the tropics.<br />3.This forest trees do not shed their leaves at a time.<br />4.The thick canopies of the closely spaced trees do not allow the sunlight to penetrate inside the forest in the day time.<br />5.This forest receive rainfall throughout the year.<br />6.The world largest snake(Anaconda) is found in this forest only.<br />7.Example of trees:-Hard wood trees like:-<br /> ebony<br /> Mahogany <br />Rosewood <br />1.These forest are also called as tropical rainforest.<br />2.These forest are found near the equator and close to the tropics.<br />3.These forest trees have thick canopies of the closely spaced trees which do not allow the sunlight to penetrate inside the forest in the day time.<br />4.The world largest snake (Anaconda) is found in this forest only.<br />5.This forest receive rainfall throughout the year.<br />6.Some examples of trees found in tropical evergreen forest are:-<br /> Ebony <br /> Mahogany <br /> Rose wood trees<br />

TEMPERATE EVERGREEN FOREST<br />1.The temperate evergreen forest are located in the mid-latitudinal coastal regions they are commonly found along the eastern margins of the continents.<br />2.Example of places they are found :-In South east USA , South and in South east Brazil.<br />3.They comprise both hard and soft wood trees. <br />4.Examples of trees:- Oak , Pine , Eucalyptus , etc.. <br />

TROPICAL DECIDIOUS FOREST<br />1.Tropical deciduous are the monsoon forest found in the large part of india,northern Australia and in central America.<br />2.These regions experience seasonal changes.<br />3.Trees shed their leaves in the dry season to conserve water.<br />4.Example of hard wood trees found in this forest are:- sal,teak,neem,and shisham .<br />5.Example of animals found in this forest are:-tiger,donkey,elephant etc…<br />6.Hard wood trees are extremely useful for making furniture, transport and constructional materials.<br />

TEMPERATE DECIDIOUS FOREST<br />1.Temperate deciduous forest are found in higher latitudes.<br />2.Places they are found:- north eastern part of USA, China, New Zealand, Chile and also found in the coastal regions of the western Europe.<br />3.They shed their leaves in dry season.<br />4.Example of trees:-Oak, ash, beech, etc..<br />5.Example of trees:- Deer, Foxes, wolves, <br />6.Example of birds:- Pheasants, Monals<br />

MEDITERANEAN VEGETATION <br />1.The west and south west margins of the continents are covered with Mediterranean vegetation.<br />2.Places they are found:- Mediterranean sea in Europe, Africa and Asia, California in USA, South west Africa, South western, South America and South west Australia.<br />3.Fruits that are found here:- citrus fruits such as orange, figs, olives and grapes are cultivated here because people have removed the natural vegetation in order to cultivate what they want to.<br />4.There isn't much wild life here. <br />
  10. 10. CONIFEROUS FOREST<br /><ul><li>Coniferous forest are found in the higher latitudes of northern hemisphere.
  11. 11. These forest are also called as taiga.
  12. 12. Trees that are found here:- Chir, pine, cedar are the important variety of trees in this forest. This forest also has tall, softwood evergreen trees.
  13. 13. These woods are very useful for making pulp, which is used for manufacturing paper and newsprint.
  14. 14. Animals that are found here:- silver fox, mink, polar bear, are the animals found here. </li></li></ul><li>GRASSLANDS<br />TYPES OF GRASSLAND<br />1.Tropical grassland<br />2.Temperate grassland<br />

TROPICAL GRASSLAND<br />1Tropical grassland grow either on the side of the equator and extended till the tropics.<br />2.This vegetation grows in the areas of moderate to low amount of rainfall<br />3.They can grow very tall, 3 to 4 meters in height.<br />4.Animals found I tropical grassland:- Elephants, Zebras, Giraffes, Deer and leopards<br />
  16. 16. NAMES OF TROPICAL GRASSLAND<br />1.Savanna grassland in - East Africa<br />2.Campos grassland in - Brazil<br />3.Llanos grassland in - Venezuela<br />
  17. 17. TEMPERATE GRASSLAND<br />1.These grassland are found in the latitudinal zones and in the interior part of the subcontinent. Usually, grass here is short and nutritious <br />2.Animals that are found here:- Wild buffaloes, bisons, antilopes are common in the temperate regions. <br />
  18. 18. NAMES OF TEMPERATE GRASSLAND<br />1.Pampas grassland in Argentina.<br />2.Prairie grassland in North America<br />3.Veld grassland in South Africa<br />4.Steppe grassland in Central Asia<br />5.Down grassland in Australia<br />
  19. 19. THORNY BUSHES<br />1.This type of vegetation is found in dry desert like regions.<br />2.The vegetation cover is scarce here because of scanty rain and scorching heat.<br />3.The plants like cactus are found here. <br />

TUNDRA TYPE OF VEGETATION<br />This type of vegetation is found in polar regions.<br />2.Places they are found:- Polar areas of Europe, Asia and North America.<br />3.Plants that are found here:- Mosses, Lichens and very small shrubs.<br />4.The animals have thick fur and thick skin to protect them from cold climatic condition.<br />5.Animals that are found here:- Seal, walruses, musk-oxen, Arctic owl, Polar bear and snow foxes are some of the animals found here. <br />
