The comment by guest092a5cb six months ago about Florida not falling into darkness before New England/eastern New York state is wrong. At the time around the summer soltice on June 21st, the day-night line across the eastern United States shows that southern Florida enters darkness near or before New England/eastern New York state. See http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/earthview.php for a day-night terminator clock you can control. Try the following: Month = June, Day = 21, Hour = 0, Minute = 15, then click Show Earth Views button.

There seems to be a glaring error on page 16. I live in Scotland, a country north of England, full of proud Scottish people. However, the arrow pointing to England is located right in the North of Scotland. Wars have been triggered for less than this.

Yeah. The whole-earth pictures were not taken by Williams since the shuttle doesn’t fly that far out of low-earth orbit. Those shots had to come at least from a satellit in geosynchronous orbit (read that: wa-a-a-ay farther out than the shuttle EVER flies).

Has anyone of these critics been in outer space and photographed such views? I see these as great shots and if they were photoshoped the technician certainly knows his or her stuff. Seem there are alsways sceptics especially when something or someone is looking down at us. Beware there are others looking!

Also, the one that supposedly shows nightfall in the U.S. has a diagonal line of encroaching darkness such that the southern states (e.g. Florida in particular) would have to fall into darkness BEFORE the northern states. Simply impossible; it always gets dark much earlier in say New York or Ohio than it does in Florida, etc.

I can’t figure out why Sunita Williams would associate her name with this hoax. So many people with just a little knowledge could find the fake stuff - the vetting process is very stringent for the nasa programme. Could her fellows not have spotted this as well?

Hey, it called my attention when I received this forwarded email with the pictures that the Earth looked a perfect circle, then I opened in edition and create a circle with Power Point, modified the size, and it fits perfectly to the Earth !!!, that is fake ! Earth is not a perfect circle !
