    • 10. @replies (@) and direct messages (D) <ul><li>If you start a tweet and put @ in front of someone user name eg. “@ragtag” or “@ibmevents” Twitter will let them know someone has sent a message - public </li></ul><ul><li>If you want to send a private message you type “D ragtag” (notice a space between the “D” and ragtag </li></ul><ul><li>Without @replies you would never know that someone was talking to you </li></ul>

Retweets (RT) <ul><li>If you see a tweet that you like you can forward it on to all your followers by retweeting </li></ul><ul><li>For example </li></ul><ul><li>When your friends RT someone you may want to follow the person that made the original comment </li></ul><ul><li>Without RT you would never know people were talking about you </li></ul>photo place_light
