  2. 2. EXERCISE 1 Step 1: Lock typodont with 2 way sticking tape, 0.016” Niti straight Wire 4 unit E chains pre-cut. Step 2: Reverse Double over tie Place the e chains on each bracket as shown. Step 3 : Insert the arch wire. Ligate the First premolar with Elastomeric Module to stabilize the arch wire Step 4: Holding the wire in the slot with the bifid end of the iLingual probe pull the e chain with the mosquito forceps.
  3. 3. EXERCISE 1 Step 5 : Turn the e chain gingivally such that the same module of the e chain pushes the wire in the slot Step 6 : Completed reverse double overtie. Step 7: Do the same for the six anterior teeth Step 8 : Normal ligation of rest of the teeth with elastomeric module.
  4. 4. EXERCISE 1 Step 9: Completed ligation of 0.016” Niti Step 10: Removal of Reverse double overtie with the fine end of the bifid probe. Disengage the reverse double over ties and the elastomeric modules. Remove the wire Finally remove the reverse double over tie modules. EXERCISE 2 Ligation Technique for retraction arch. Wire used is 0.017 x 0.017 “ NiTi ( for technique purpose only, actual retraction wire shall be a 0.022 “ x 0.016 “ SS) Step 1: Consolidate the anterior segment with Figure of 8 Tie with Ligature wire.
  5. 5. EXERCISE 2 Completed figure of 8 tie. 3-3. Step 2: Consolidate the posterior segments from the 5- 7 as single unit.(as would be in case of 4/4 extn.) Consolidate the posterior segments from the 5- 7 as single unit.(as would be in case of 4/4 extn.) Step 3: Place 2 ligatures on the 3/3 on either side of extraction space to ligate the 3/3 with reverse double overtie with Steel ligature to control tipping in vertical insertion brackets.
  6. 6. EXERCISE 2 Step 4: Place the square wire in the slots First ligate the 5/5 to make the wire stable. Step 5: Now with the bifid end of the iLingual probe push the wire into the slot and then pull both the ends of ligature over the wire. Pull both the ends of ligature over the wire. Pass one end of ligature below the hook of the bracket to the other side and ligate , thus completing a reverse double over tie .
  7. 7. EXERCISE 2 Step 6: Repeat the same on the other side canine. Step 7: Now ligate the rest of the teeth with S.S.ligatures. Step 8: Take 4 unit e chains Stretch from 3-6 on either side.
