Activity: “ Tom’s dinner ” a daily life story ( Introducing present simple through present continuous)

Expected outcomes: Student will be able to practice the present continues form, identifying in the
meantime, the difference within present simple form.
Resources: Worksheets, radio, colour markers, board, dictionary, photocopies.

Introduction : 15 min Teacher calls the roll, and give back previous worksheets

While –Stage 30 min Teacher introduces a listening activity based on
“ Ing v/s Present simple forms” Suzan Vega’s “ Tom Dinners” where
Continuous form is distinguished from Present simple.
(I.e. Actions happening now, Temporary situation,
Changing situation). The first part of the activity consists
on a fill in activity where Ing verbs and present simple
Verbs have been dropped out. Students listen up the
Track twice, meanwhile they have to write down the
Verb form belonging to each item. ( Teacher may offer

Once the filling activity has been , teachers ask review
