  • 2. Stories of Origin &amp; Important People <ul><li>Jews, Christians, Muslims were the descendants of Abraham. </li></ul><ul><li>God gave Moses the 10 commandments. </li></ul><ul><li>David was an ancient king. </li></ul>
  • 3. Holy Writings &amp; Core Beliefs <ul><li>-The Torah is the old testament. </li></ul><ul><li>Jewish people follow and respect </li></ul><ul><li>the Torah. </li></ul><ul><li>-Jewish People believe in only </li></ul><ul><li>1 god. This is one of their Core </li></ul><ul><li>Beliefs. </li></ul><ul><li>-Jewish people follow the 613 </li></ul><ul><li>Commandments that are in the </li></ul><ul><li>Torah. </li></ul>
  • 4. Symbols &amp; Objects <ul><li>-This is a picture of a Kippah. It is a sign of respect. </li></ul><ul><li>-This is a picture of a picture of the star of David. </li></ul><ul><li>-The Tallit is a shall that Jewish people wear. </li></ul><ul><li>It has strings coming off of it which represents </li></ul><ul><li>613 commandments. </li></ul>

Holy Places &amp; Places of Worship <ul><li>-A synagogue is a holy place for </li></ul><ul><li>Jewish people to worship. </li></ul><ul><li>-The Western Wall is a one of the </li></ul><ul><li>walls from the first temple. </li></ul><ul><li>-Israel is a holy place for Jewish people because of Jerusalem. </li></ul>

Rites of Passage &amp; Rituals <ul><li>-A bar or bat mitzvah is celebration </li></ul><ul><li>when a girl turns 12 and a half and a boy turns 13. </li></ul><ul><li>- When you attend a Jewish wedding the ceremony is under a Chuppah. </li></ul><ul><li>- Shiva is a ceremony after someone who you are very close to dies. </li></ul>
  • 7. Celebrations &amp; Holidays <ul><li>-Hanukkah means rededication. </li></ul><ul><li>-Passover means to pass through or spare. </li></ul><ul><li>-On Yom Kippur you fast for 24 hours. </li></ul>
  • 8. History &amp; Modern Day <ul><li>- There is a conflict between Israelis and the Palestinians. </li></ul>
