  • What is a Physiotherapist?A Physiotherapist, also known as a physical therapistprovides their service to those who have just come out ofrecovery. They help their bodies get back up and going again.Physiotherapy gives you movement for life. There aredifferent specialists in Physiotherapy such as Spinal unit,Pediatrics, amputees, Strokes, Head injuries, Heart/lungs,ICU, Burns and many more.
  • What qualifications do you need?To be a physiotherapist takes about a 4 year course studying inBachelor of health Science (BHSc) majoring in Physiotherapy atUniversity, From Auckland University of Technology; or a Bachelorof Physiotherapy (BPhty) from the University of Otago.For the 1st year you spend most of your time in a classroom, andfor the rest of the time your testing and starting to help inhospitals and private Physio’s. Before starting University youhave to have passed NCEA level 3 and Pukekohe High School ithelps to take biology, maths, science, physics, health, chemistry,physical Education and more at High school.
  • What range of pay do you get?Physiotherapists earn an average of $42,600 a year and workan average of 34 hours per week. This also includes full andpart-time workers.Physiotherapists can go on to specializing in many differentfields of Physiotherapy, Others move into teaching andresearch roles or progress into management positions.Some Physiotherapists can set up there own clinics in privatepractices.
