    • THE EREADER MARKET IS EXPLODING In 2010, an estimated 10.3 million tablets and 6.7 million ereaders were sold. As far as ereaders are concerned, the Kindle remains the most popular unit, followed by Barnes & Noble’s Nook.

    • YOUR WEBSITE IS THE WORST PLACE TO SELL YOUR EBOOK
      • Unless…
      • You are a celebrity
      • You have an established platform and receive millions of hits to your site each month
      • You happen to be an owner of an ebook distribution platform
    • KEEP IT SIMPLE: SELL BOOKS WHERE PEOPLE BUY BOOKS
    • EBOOK DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS YOU MUST KNOW (AND USE) – CLICK ON EACH TO GO TO THE WEBSITE
    • THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE UPLOADING YOUR BOOK TO AN EBOOK DISTRIBUTION PLATFORM
      • Rights: do you retain your copyright once you sign the distribution agreement?
      • Royalties and Pricing: do you set your own pricing? What are the royalty implications of different price points. How often do you get paid? How can you track sales?
      • Requirements: each ebook distributor has their own set of criteria for inclusion into their digital catologue…read this information clearly or your book may never see the light of day.
      • Reach: each ebook distributor has their own marketplace and reaches thousands if not millions of potential readers, understand the reach and contemplate this in your marketing plans.
      • Resources: what tools are available to interact with readers on the ebook distributors site ? do they enable social media integration?
    • TPC RECOMMENDS… “ If you have to pick only two ebook distribution platforms (which you don’t), We recommend these two. We’ve had great success with each.”
    • WHY YOU NEED TO USE ALL THE EBOOK DISTRIBUTION PLATFORMS
      • The ebook market is still very young and represents only 7% of the total book market, which means you have an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a major movement! There’s no way of knowing which platform will win in the end. The good news is you don’t have to choose!
