2. Betty asks…
What are best attractions in Kuching, Sarawak?
I will be flying to Kuching pretty soon and I am excited! This is my first time there and I would
love to know from those who have been there to share with me the best places/attractions in
Kuching that I should not miss! Thanks alot lot!
PS: How is the transportation in Kuching? I heard from some people, transportation is
expensive and lousy there…Is it true??
Additional details: Anyone stayed in Four points Sheraton, how’s it?
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Transport by taxi is reasonable but it is usually difficult to flag down one on the street since they
are only popular amongst tourists. One can get a taxi from the taxi stand near the corner of the
Electra House/end of India Street, in front of hotels or by contacting them through the
telephone. Intrepid backpackers can try the public transport by antiquated, smoky,
non-air-conditioned buses or the ‘van sapu’ (mini-van converted into mini-buses) which offer
cheaper mean of getting to places.Numerous natural attractions including the National Parks
(notably Bako and the Kuching Wetlands National Park) and the Semenggoh Wildlife Center
which places an orang utan orphanage and rehabilitation program are also popular attractions
near Kuching.

4. Where to get free map for Kuching town and suburbs?
Visiting there soon. Need to check out places and road maps for travel conveniences. Can
anyone also highlight how far Kuching airport to town, what’s the taxi fare as well for night
arrival say 10pm?
Thanks.
Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:
Airport to town, 15minutes. Taxi fare – sorry can’t help you coz my mum always fetch me from
the airport.
Road maps, ermm.. Just as you pass the Imigresen Check at the airport you’ll find lots of it.
Another place that you can go is the Sarawak Tourism Board Office, just beside the Padang
Merdeka. Lots & lots of info there.
Don’t worry, just ask for direction. We Sarawakian are well known for our well-reception of
tourist.
Potong2 kepala tu dah takde dah, they potong kepala ayam sekarang……. Hahaha
Places to go:
