  3. 3. Mark asks…where can i find kuching travel map online?planning to go to kuching sarawak this year..where can i find travel map online so i can plan my visit..where are the places u guy recommended?kuching & surroundings..Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:Sarawak is a place which full of natural, cultural & heritage, the peoples are very friendly andthe place is peaceful.Don’t expect to find happening disco, clubbing or big size of shopping complex (soon 1 will on2008), for some peoples may feel boring, but you can relax and refresh your mindset at here.Sarawak is the biggest state in Malaysia, almost the size of Peninsular Malaysia, therefore isnot easy to get around. Most of the attraction places in Kuching will easily take an hour drive, the Mulu Cave is 45min flight fr Kuching. The public transportation is not convenient due to the distant, and the direction signage is verypoor. Most situation were end up, dont know how to go and where to find the bus, and evenlost… So is quite difficult to manage the travel time and very frustrated. The better way is to hirea driver or taxi to go around but its costly. I would suggest you to arrange different day trips withthe hotel or local travel agent, tell them the places you wish to go, then they will offer somepackages for you. No worry, their prices are reasonable and they are trustable! Or ideally, youfind a local guy as your guide…I would suggest you stay close at Riverside (center of Kuching town), along the Riverside thereare restaurants and souvenir shops, at the end is the Waterfront, turn left towards the HotelMerdeka is the State Museum and Tourist Center. This route would probably take a half day bywalking.Beside that, you should visit• Orang Utan @ “Semenggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre” (you need to check the feedingtime) 3/6
  4. 4. • The Crocodile Farm (worth to see)• The Borneo Height (for some cool air refresh)and 6 museums…• The Old & New State Museum in town• Chinese Museum @ Riverside• Islamic Museum (forgot the road name…)• Timberland Museum (forgot the road name…)• Cat Museum @ North City HallOut of the Kuching cityYou can spend a day to the seaside @ Santurbong Damai Beach, on the way you can visit •the Cultural Village (must see!), Cat Museum & Timberland Museum. If you are interested on wildlife, birds & insects, you can go to Bako National Park (the nearestto Kuching). Also can visit a long house @ Batang Ai, there is a shuttle bus service fr Kuching Hilton Hotel, about 4hrs drive. If you want to explore adventure to Mulu or Niah Cave, you need another 3 days and have tocheck with local agent in Kuching.Well, i would say you probably need at least 4-5 days to go around. Below are some websitewhich got further details, hope you will njoy & gd luckLinda asks…Where to search for an official translator for Arabic and English in 4/6
  5. 5. Kuching?I need to get some documents translated from Arabic to English. I can do it myself but I need anofficial chop on that. So, where can I find an official translator for Arabic or at least where can Isearch for one? Courts…?How much do they charge per page?Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:I recently had some paperwork certified as true copies by a solicitor firm in KL. The fee wassupposed to be $50 (Ringgits) for the first page and $10 per subsequent pages, but if you smilenicely they might wavier the $10 per page fee like they did with me.I doubt that there are any lawyers/solicitors in Kuching that can translate the paperwork for you,but as you mentioned if you can translate it yourself I think that they would be willing to give itan official chop.Good luckLaura asks…What is the tourist attraction in Kuching?i’ll be staying at Somerset Gateway, Kuching this coming September.. ive been there once last 5/6
