Not All Water Filters Are Created Equal
The growing popularity of using water filters in homes is due, in part, to scientists
that pioneered research of polluted drinking. Without these scientists conclusive
studies many of us now wouldn't be aware of the general benefits of clean and
healthy water.
To take a certain case example, in 1855 a well known epidemiologist Dr. John
Snow linked the outbreak of cholera to the consumption of contaminated well
water. The next step was to treat the drinking water to remove contaminants.
Mankind should remain forever grateful to scientists like Dr. John Snow because
his discovery lead others to embrace advancement in water treatment
technologies. While health minded individuals now know what makes up the
perfect drinking water, and how it nourishes our vital organs, and it provides the
fuel for our defense against sickness, many of us still don't realize that there are
many choices. In short, not all water filters are created equal.
The simple craft type water filter, in recent years, had been know to be good for
filtering water compared to municipal water treatment. For instance if you tested
municipal city its likely you will find traces of pollution in the water but after it is
treated with a pitcher type water filter. You can see the micro contaminants may
have been reduced. But nine other contaminants can remain in the drinking
water.
This means the craft pitcher type filter does not remove all harmful contaminants.
But on the other side of the spectrum there are products called reverse osmosis
that remove every single micro and mineral content from the water leaving it with
absolutely no quality for drinking.
This type of water filter is very popular, but health experts and scientists alike
agree this type of water consumption is unhealthy.
There are different types of water filter manufactures and they even have their
own charts with information that compares their product. The trick is knowing
which one to research first. You can do a comparison search on the Internet and
find comparisons of the the top 10 selling brands.
If you can look at the comparisons and determine which ones remove the
unwanted contaminants while keeping the wanted mineral contents you will find
the most expensive brand is not always the best.
Expensive brand may not come with patent technology or be backed by scientific
research that conclude it is very good. You are looking for brands that support
the science of clean and healthy water.
Another expense while researching is the "Per Gallon Cost Of Use" that is how
much money you are spending to use this filter to make clean water. This is a
very interesting comparison. It is interesting because it breaks down the real
value of a gallon of water.
You can get a price of a gallon of water at the store and how much it will cost you
to produce that same water inside your home.
Your comparison will show that one filter will differ in producing quality drinking
water. You need to determine which one will best for you.
