  7. 8. Now: <ul><li>Take a very small amount of text from the ‘curry’ article </li></ul><ul><li>Write it in your books, leaving space around it </li></ul><ul><li>You are going to annotate it, in detail, focusing on the language devices used </li></ul><ul><li>Let’s look at my example… </li></ul>

UNUSUAL WORD CHOICES – ‘LIGHT’ MIGHT USUALLY BE ASSOCIATED WITH EYES; IT EXAGGERATES THE FEELING WE MIGHT HAVE ON ITS OWN; STRESSES THE QUALITY OF THE SPICES. PLAYFUL WORD USE, SOMETHING GENTLE AND PLEASANT… ALLITERATION HELPS EMPHASISE THE TASTY QUALITY OF THE FOOD… SUGGESTS THE PLEASURES TO COME…
