    • Use the right keywords
    • Learning to search effectively takes time.
    • With practice, however, you can become an expert searcher!

    • Enter the words you think will be in the documents you seek.
    • The search engine finds the webpages in its index that exactly match your words.
    • Review the search results to see if your words found the information you hoped for.
    • If your search words didn't match, you revise your words and try again.

    • Four categories of words make up most search tasks:
      • Keywords that are effective “as is”
      • Intermediate words that represent important ideas but probably aren’t effective “as is”
      • Words that have little effect on the outcome
      • Stop Words that are ignored by a Search Engine

    • A hypo nym is a word that describes things more specifically.
      • Keywords that are hypo nyms will retrieve fewer and more precise results.
    • Hyper nyms are words that refer to broad categories or general concepts.
        • Keywords that are hyper nyms will more and less precise results.
