Adrenaline2 Adrenaline2 Presentation Transcript

  • ADRENALINE
    Ryan Hanssens
  • Adrenaline is very shy and is rarely seen but when it does come out of its “crib”(adrenal gland) it makes everything very exciting.
It has a nickname of Epinephrine
  • Adrenaline consists of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen
    Its chemical formula is C9H13NO3
  • It contains 3 hydroxyl groups and 1 amino group
  • Adrenaline loves to hang out in the adrenal glands by the kidneys and only comes out once in a while but when it does, it makes everything more enjoyable
After it wears off some people get very light headed, sick, and get headaches
  • Adrenaline is a hormone and neurotransmitter
  • Functions of neurotransmitters – activate the receptor which needs to do the action
Functions of hormones- help the body adjust to the environment the body is in
  • Adrenaline helps the body respond to sudden stress
increases the strength and rate of the heartbeat and raises the blood pressure
  • I am a good parent to adrenaline because it has helped me with situations in sports and physical confrontations
