• 1. Adrenaline Peptide's Baby Book! Awww! Look how cute  Proud Parent: Amy Donahue pd 3
 • 2. My Baby Is Made Of..

The elements that make up my beautiful baby Adrenaline are carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen.

The chemical formula is C9H13NO3

 • 3. Subunits of Adrenaline

A subunit of Adrenaline is the “G proteins”

They were discovered when Adrenaline’s “uncles”, Alfred G. Gilman and Martin Rodbell wanted to investigate stimulation of cells in Adrenaline

Adrenaline binds to a receptor, but the receptor won’t stimulate enzymes directly

The receptor will stimulate the “G protein”, which will then stimulate the enzyme

* A “G protein” (guanine nucleotide-binding protein) is a protein that is involved in transmitting chemical signals from outside the cell, which will then cause changes inside the cell.

 • 4. Functional Groups!

Adrenaline is a very talented baby, and contains 2 functional groups, impressive I know. I’m so proud =) The two groups are: NH2 and OH.

Jealous yet?

 • 5. Organic Compound of Adrenaline?

Since my baby is so talented I know you are all wondering the above question.. What organic compound he is. And the answer to that riveting question is Epinephrine ! Oohhh ahhhh.

The function of Epinephrine is to increase heart rate, dilate air passages and participate in the fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system.

I repeat.. Jealous yet?

 • 6. Did you know..

Adrenaline helps the body adjust to sudden stress.

-The adrenal gland releases adrenaline into the blood, and the hormone causes the body to make it more efficient for “fight or flight”

Prepared Adrenaline can be used for treatment for severe allergic reactions, restore the heartbeat of patients suffering cardiac arrest, and to treat severe asthma.

 • 7. Why I’m a Fantastic Parent for Adrenaline

I’m a good parent for Adrenaline because it is used every day for when I, or others get stressed out. An adrenaline kick is just what the doctor ordered. Another reason I’m a good parent for Adrenaline is because I know where it is produced in the body, the adrenal gland. The last reason that I make a great parent for Adrenaline is because I know that when one has an adrenaline rush, it increases physical performance for short bursts of time for

that person.
