Dr. Matthew Ohlson is a Senior Associate on the Education Content
Consulting team of PCG Education. He currently supports PCG Education’s
Florida Department of Education Charter School project, providing onsite coaching and professional development to charter school leadership
teams.
EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining PCG Education, Dr. Ohlson served as a school principal,
technology director, and professional development facilitator for
acclaimed organizations including the Florida Virtual School, the Lastinger
Center for Learning at the University of Florda, and the Boston Public
Schools. His efforts were recognized by the Jefferson Awards for Public
Service, the United Way, Kappa Delta Pi, and the United Health Care
Heroes Foundation.

EDUCATION AND ASSOCIATIONS
Dr. Ohlson earned his Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy
and a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of
Florida. He was selected by the State Board of Education and Pearson to
contribute to the design of the new Florida Educational Leadership Exam
(FELE) in 2013. In 2012, he was Academy Team Leader at the Marilyn
Hohmann-Schlecty Center Principals Academy. Also in 2012, he was a
United Health Care Heroes grant recipient, using funding to bring at-risk
children to a collegiate campus for immersion outings. Dr. Ohlson has also
taught the following graduate and doctoral level courses in the College of
Education at the University of Florida- Guided Teacher Inquiry, Data Driven
Decision Making and Instructional Leadership.
