Mr. Blue <ul><li>38 year old man, serving 25 to life for murder with an extensive previous history of mental illness. </li></ul><ul><li>Been in prison for 12 years with numerous psychiatric admissions. </li></ul><ul><li>When on medications and in special housing he functions well but has stopped taking medications 2 months ago and assaulted other inmate. </li></ul><ul><li>Thinks other inmates and staff plotting against him and Secret Service trying to brainwash him. </li></ul><ul><li>Talking loud in cell to self. </li></ul>Case Studies

Mr. Orange <ul><li>22 year old man, serving 3-5 years for sale of controlled substance. </li></ul><ul><li>Several prior arrest for substance abuse, prostitution and robbery. </li></ul><ul><li>Been in prison for 1 year, sent to special housing for positive urine [twice]. </li></ul><ul><li>Generally functions well in GP but can be victim prone. </li></ul><ul><li>Attempted to hang self in special housing, alert officer did second round and found him hanging. </li></ul><ul><li>Admitted to observation cells for 5 days returned to special housing. </li></ul><ul><li>Presently many complaints about food, noise, smell. </li></ul><ul><li>Seeks mental health counseling. </li></ul>

Mr. Greene <ul><li>26 year old man serving 3-6 years for vehicular manslaughter, killed wife while driving drunk. </li></ul><ul><li>Has served 2 years of sentence. </li></ul><ul><li>Has had 2 significant suicide attempts and psychiatric admissions admissions. </li></ul><ul><li>In special housing because knife found in cell. </li></ul><ul><li>Refuses programming, sleeps most of day, refused 3 meals in past 5 days. Does not program, withdrawing from all interactions, except writing letters. </li></ul><ul><li>2 nd anniversary of auto accident in 1 week. </li></ul>

Mr. Red <ul><li>44 year old man serving, 25 years to life for murder. </li></ul><ul><li>Lengthy history of arrest, early teen history of arrest and hospitalized with diagnosis of conduct disorder. </li></ul><ul><li>Been in prison years, has 17 Tier 3 and 51 Tier 2 reports. </li></ul><ul><li>Currently in special housing for beating other inmate. </li></ul><ul><li>Seeks mental health services claiming past history of conduct disorder still affects him. </li></ul><ul><li>Taunts and threatens other inmates. </li></ul><ul><li>States he hears voices, can not sleep and needs medications. </li></ul>
