  3. 3. E-Rate <ul><li>Enacted in 1996 with the Telecommunications Act </li></ul><ul><li>Provides Funding for Modern Communications and Information Services. (i.e., advanced technology!) </li></ul><ul><li>Fund can be used in public schools and libraries </li></ul>
  4. 4. How does E-Rate Funding Work? <ul><li>Two major variables determine E-Rate Funding: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>% of disadvantaged students </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Location – is a school or library rural or urban? </li></ul></ul>
