When we participatereception of refugees we had to change our procedures. It was really challenging to receive people who had completely different backgrounds and cultures. The language was completely new to them and everything in the environment was also very different. But we know that wecanalwaysdo better in helping children with another culture background and Therefore, we are very excited and happy to be involved in this project with you all. Andget the opportunity to learn from you and share our experiences.

In Akranes you will perhaps not experience a great deal of multi-culture, but you can find people there from all over the world In 2008 we welcomed a group of refugees from Palestine. Children who move here from other countries get help to integrate into culture and society. Reykjavík has it´s own multicultural plan to intergrate preschool children and their families. http://www.reykjavik.is/Portaldata/1/Resources/leikskolasvid /fjolmenningarstefna_l Multicultural info center in Iceland http://www.mcc.is/ Iceland presentation-Friðbjörg and Anney 16
