Globally, out of 7 bn population 2 bn use net (30% penetration)
In Asia, out of 3.8 bn population 114 crores use net (24% penetration)
North America and Europe penetration 78% and 58% respectively.

Present trend - Asia
Hongkong (69%), Singapore 78%, Taiwan (70%), South Korea (81%) and Japan (79%) have more than 60 percent penetration
India 8.4 percent. (around 10 crore users) - More growth expected due to broadband, 3G and mobile
