Liars have a unique body language. The overall body language of a liar would be stiff, which indicates a defensive mind set. They are usually more conscious about themselves, and so they can be a lot fidgety too. Their hands or their legs tremble while they speak, and they tend to touch their exposed body parts such as their mouth or their face quite often. You may notice that they would unnecessarily gesticulate with their hands or fidget with certain objects such as a pen. Sometimes they would even perspire profusely even when the weather is cold or even when the air conditioning system is working well.
You can also detect liars by looking at the movements of their eyes. Liars do not usually make direct eye contacts and would rather avoid looking into your eyes. Most of the time, their gaze would be fixed towards the floor when they are conversing.
Other things to keep in mind are that liars are always defensive and will tend to behave aggressively or arrogantly. Also, the blood pressure of a person who is lying is known to rise, making their face turn red. The voice of a person who is trying to withhold truth will be generally squeaky and may sometimes tremble too. He may even jump from one topic to another, being unable to follow a particular sequence during a conversation.
Being a human lie detector is not a difficult thing. You simply have to be familiar with the basic signs that are common to most liars.
