This zine explores the formation of information and how it manifests in natural and complex systems. The goal is to advance new mathematical systems that can describe the dynamic formation of patterns in nature, biology, and society. The zine also aims to shift perspectives towards understanding nature's creative processes and how human creativity can be influenced by these ideas. It seeks to explain these concepts through an accessible design to spread this new way of thinking.

The focus of Programnature’s research and the central
theme of our first issue is the process of creation. How does

everything we see actually form. Nature is an incredibly creative
force. When comparing a human-made artifact to that created by
a non-human natural process, it has been a safe assumption that
the simpler artifact is the one made by humans. This is because
the formal methods we have for creating are inadequate at dealing

As we By:

creative engine is closer at hand than expected. Though the
concepts are simple, the conceptual shift is profound -- away
from stagnant artifacts and towards dynamic process-based
interactions. Through this lens, we see how natural form emerges
in all process-based systems, from the biological to the social to
the cultural, and understand that the unpredictability of growth
and transformation is an inherent and irreducible component of
creativity. We can also see that with the right language, it can
still be manipulated and harnessed -- opening a vast frontier of
interaction between human creativity and that of nature.
