  • 1. Progressive Integrations, Inc.,Your ‘easy button’ for small business or home office
  • 2. P: Point of the talk (the purpose, the premise, the promise)
    • Progressive Integrations started January 1985 as an Audio Visual System Integration Company
    • 3. October 2007, The IT (information technology) division of the company was started and we began servicing home users with BREAK/FIX computer/pc/mac/network repairs.
    • 4. 1st offering - Break/Fix is for something breaks – i.e., virus = $139 per hour.
    • 5. 2nd offering - Service Contracts/Block hours – 5/10 hour blocks = $129/$110 per hour.
    • 6. 3rd offering - Proactive Care/Managed Services – pit crew taking care of your car/ pit crew of computer technicians taking care of your technology.
    • 7. Where we are headed - TaaS (Technology as a Service) – Modern Office – we are your easy button
  • S: Story from your own life experience to prove the point (2 minutes)
    • I work at a technology company which installs the latest technology you would think that we would have minimal IT support issues.
    • 8. Reality: 1000 hours since 2010
    • 9. Break/Fix and Block Hour contracts are NOT the way to go with IT Services. The short of it is that we have uncovered a far better way of making certain that your data – and the network that holds it – is MORE secure and MORE reliable than ever. And given ever-growing threats to your network’s security AND your undeniable dependence on the data it holds, I’m sure you’ll agree this is a long-overdue update.
    • 10. #1 Reason there is still break/fix is because of poor maintenance, outdated security, and lack of understanding of the threats. If people took care of their cars like they do their computers, we would see more junk cars than we do.
  • S: Story from your own life experience to prove the point (2 minutes)
    • On Sunday, I was given a computer, and the ‘info’ I was given was that it was giving a ‘blue screen’ and the customer was frantic about data loss. That’s it.
    • 11. Reality – no backup. STOP THERE.
    • 12. Reality -- no hardware scan was done (usually in the posting or what is called BIOS screen) or utility partition accessed.
    • 13. Reality – Hard disk passed scan, the ram chips did not – RAM is essentially a thin strip of hardware that makes your programs run faster on top of your processor.
    • 14. Reality – Replaced the RAM with compatible ram ( Rebooted the machine and it was back up and running.
    • 15. If the client had paid attention to their owner’s manual and read the screen and saw that it said “System Utilities press F12”, they could have diagnosed their own problem and for $40 replaced the RAM themselves – Result 4 hours of testing, replacing the ram, cleaning off the viruses, updating and optimizing the system – 4 x $139.00 = $556 - They could have bought an new computer.

Some simple steps that can keep your computer out of the shop –
Most systems today come with manufacturer software that tests the hardware on your machine. If your machine starts to run slow, run the hardware diagnostics and make sure that your hardware is running correctly.
Most users leave their machines the way they received them with a bunch of bloatware software on them. Use a utility to remove the software your not using – favorite tool is ‘’ – I run it on every new machine our clients purchase and have us look at. Both windows and macs now come with partitions to put this software back on your machine if you need to restore it.
Update your computer and your backups – for macs – hit the apple in the top left and select ‘update system’ and for pc’s – windows update – Troubleshooting a computer/mac is a lot easier knowing that the latest patches and updates are on it.
Update your security software – most software to include the FREE ones have update routines to update the software. Many FREE antiviruses (minus Microsoft Security Essentials) do NOT automatically update and do NOT automatically do deep scans 1x per week by default.
Run Ccleaner/Onyx– over time your machine gets cluttered and can start filling up with website garbage, cached pictures, leftovers from software installs, updates, etc – not being used just taking up space – these FREE and SAFE utilities can be automated.
  • 16. C: Call to action or challenge (“The best referral for me would be…”)
    • Up until recently, technicians mostly delivered only reactive network repairs, support, and maintenance to clients. Something stops working, you call us, and we come out and fix it. And up until now, this type of break-fix service has worked out okay. But there is a HUGE problem with this type of support: it’s REACTIVE instead of PROACTIVE.
    • 17. Do you know someone who is sick and tired of REACTING to technology? Thanks to major advancements in technology, we can PROACTIVELY monitor your network for developing problems and nip them in the bud BEFORE they turn into expensive, incredibly frustrating problems…and we can do it for a FRACTION of the price. WS=$35/$55/%85; S=$150/$250.
    • 18. Are you a small business with 50 and below employees? Can’t afford an IT guy? average salary for IT person is 40k+, they don’t come with hardware, software, or security appliances.
    • 19. Do you know someone interested in eliminating expensive repairs and data recovery costs? Our network monitoring and maintenance will allow us to see and prevent network problems before they turn into downtime and expensive repair bills. As a matter of fact, we guarantee it.
  • C: Call to action or challenge (“The best referral for me would be…”)
    • Do you know someone who wants to eliminate expensive trip fees while receiving faster support? Our remote monitoring software will enable us to access and repair most network problems right from our offices. No more waiting around for a technician to show up!
    • 20. Do you know someone who wants faster performance, fewer glitches, and practically zero downtime? Under this program, that is exactly what we’ll deliver. Some parts of your system will degrade in performance over time, causing them to slow down, hang up, and crash. Under this plan we’ll make sure your network receives the critical maintenance it needs for maximum speed, performance, and reliability.
    • 21. Do you know someone who wants to sleep easier knowing the “gremlins at the gate” are being kept out of their network? If you rely on your computer network for daily operations, it's time to get serious about protecting it from viruses, hackers, spyware, and even disgruntled employees. Under this plan, we’ll keep watch 24-7.
    • 22. Do you know someone who is concerned with security and safety on the internet? – we can help you finally put a stop to annoying spam, pop-ups, and spyware.
  • ConclusionQ: Quotation to act as a memory hook.
    • • If it is technology, connects to the internet, or makes your life easier, we can handle it.
    • 23. • We are bringing tomorrow's technology to your home & business today.
    • 24. • We really are your ‘easy’ button – one point of contact for all your technology needs.
