      • Your boss is facing a tough decision but she isn't up-to-date on the issue. She has asked you to help her decide by informing her of and analyzing the different perspectives on the issue, and then making a recommendation.
      • The rest of this unit will provide activities to help you fulfill this person's request.
    • UNIT GOALS
      • Be able to analyze, compare, and evaluate different perspectives on the same issue.
      • Show understanding of synthesis and evaluation criteria as well as in-text and works cited documentation.
      • Continue to develop the ability to research and write a documented paper.
    • ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES
      • Activity 1: Identify your research topic Activity 2: Understand synthesis & collect ideas
      • Activity 3: Begin synthesizing ideas
      • Activity 4: Organize ideas
      • Activity 5: Draft thesis and organization
      • Activity 6: Draft the synthesis essay
