  • 2. Scenario for this Unit:
    • Write an essay in which you summarize information from several sources. The essay will show understanding of summary conventions as well as quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, and documentation.
    • The rest of this unit will provide activities to help you fulfill this person's request.
  • 3. UNIT GOALS
    • Understand and apply basic principles of critical thinking and technical proficiency in the development of exposition.
    • Begin to develop the ability to research and write a documented paper.
    • Show understanding of summary conventions as well as quoting, paraphrasing, and documentation.
  • 4. ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES
    • Activity 1: Articulate a research focus.
