    1. ProdigoTEM™ Case Study UPMC Manages Wireless Services for Big Cost Savings UPMC, one of the nation’s leading non-profit health systems, has rapidly grown to become a $7 billion organization with global operations throughout the US, Europe and Asia. With 20 hospitals, 4,000 physicians and more than 50,000 employees, UPMC was seeking a best-in-class solution to better manage its wireless services. Gaining Control & Visibility of Wireless Usage UPMC realized that the organization could better manage its wireless usage, expenses and devices. With over 3,500 devices across the organization, UPMC was manually processing many of its wireless expenses and invoices. In addition, auditing the invoices for usage management and inventory was becoming far too consuming of the company’s time and resources. UPMC’s Director of Strategic Sourc- ing, Robert Pavlik, realized UPMC could gain more control over expenses and visibility into their wireless landscape by using a telecom expense management solution (TEM) to automate current manual processes, improve reporting and simplify tracking wireless usage and the numerous devices. Determining Best-in-Class TEM Provider Prodigo Solutions worked with UPMC to help them select the best TEM provider that matched the needs of the rapidly growing health organization. REACHING ROI IN 60 DAYS With the data gathering process underway, UPMC was ready to see results even though the implementation process wasn’t completed. It didn’t take long to see amazing results. Within 60 days of the implementation start date, UPMC had uncovered enough savings to make the project ROI neutral. The TEM project paid for itself in just two months and the ongoing savings continue to mount – well beyond expectations. MEETING GOALS UPMC reached most of the stated goals for its TEM so- lution even before implementation was completed. The most obvious benefit for UPMC has been the large cost savings resulting from the effective rate plan optimiza- tion, inventory audit and the newfound visibility.
