The Lone Star Flag
The official state flag
of Texas is called the
lone star flag. It was
adopted in 1845.
Texas is the 28th state of the USA. The colors represent bravery, purity, and loyalty. Red for bravery; white for purity; and blue for loyalty. The white star was first used during the war between Texas and Mexico in the 1830s.
The Pecan is the only nut tree native to north.
The monarch butterfly does not hibernate. Did you know that? But it flies to Mexico in the winter. I chose the monarch butterfly because it is my state insect.
The bluebonnet is also known as buffalo clover, wolf flower, and el conejo. It is my state flower.
