  • 7. COMEDY PROGRAMME Mr. Bean’s comedy programmes are very funny! Aquí no hay quien viva is a Spanish comedy programme
  • 8. THE NEWS I watched the news on television. It was raining a lot in Tenerife! Matías Prats is a great newsreader .
  • 9. SPORTS PROGRAMME I like watching Sunday’s sports programmes
  • 10. TALK SHOW The best talk show in Spain is Buenafuente’s programme

SOAP OPERA The majority of soap operas are made in South America The name soap opera comes from the original serials broadcast on radio that had soap manufacturers such as Colgate-Palmolive as sponsors. These radio serials were broadcast at times when mostly housewives would be listening; the shows were consumed by a predominantly female audience
  • 12. GAME SHOW Who wants to be a millionaire is a big game show. Wheel of Fortune is an interesting game show
  • 13. ADVERTS In my opinion, Coke adverts are the best!
  • 14. Famous soap operas in Britain Eastender is a soap opera about life in an area of London. It is very popular among teenagers. Coronation Street is another soap opera and it started in 1960 and it is on TV four times a week!

    • In Britain people must pay for having TV sets at home. It is called TV License .
    • But, how much?
      • Colour TV: 139.50 pounds a year (150 euros)
      • Black and white: 47 pounds a year (60 euros)
  • 16. TV Detection units
    • They detect the signal from TV sets.
    • If you use a TV set without paying the license, you are warned. If you don’t pay, you can be fined with 1.000 pounds . (1200 euros)
    • Adverts did not exist in BBC. That’s why the license was paid, but they do now.
