Motivation for ElCues
To address the following:
Only a small % of students achieve superlative performance
Students are bracketed into slots early on, which the school
keeps strengthening
Only a small number of students are comfortable with the
concepts.

Lack of confidence arising out of insufficient mastery over
subjects

Learning Methods
Mastery Learning:
All can learn, but each has a different way and different rate of
learning
Under favorable conditions, individual differences diminish
Uncorrected learning errors are responsible for most learning
difficulties.
Time to learn must be adjusted to fit aptitude
Students must demonstrate mastery on unit exams, typically
80%, before moving on to new material.
Summative Assessment
Typical examinations where a student is graded for right/wrong
answers
Formative Assessment
Strength/weaknesses are identified
Grading is not done. Instead, improvement areas are identified
Adaptive Testing
In a test, the difficulty level of the next question adjusts according
to the response to the previous question.

Using Technology for Implementation
Mastery Learning was successful in classrooms, but,
volume of tests were extremely laborious for the teachers
Formative Assessment showed excellent results as well,
but, to design a learning for each individual is daunting
