Asi : Actuator Sensor Interface Presentation Transcript

  • 1. Welcome to you all…. Presented by Prashob P K Presentation on
  • 2. INTRODUCTION Introduction
    • ASI stands for Actuator Sensor Interface
    • AS-Interface is an open, vendor-independent bus system.
    • Actuators and sensors are connected to the controller via an unshielded 2-wire line – which simultaneously transfers data and power.
    • The basis of each system include:-
        • The master
        • Power supply unit
        • Various standard and safe slaves
  • 3. The actuator sensor interface offers the following benefits: ● No need for complex cable harnesses to the sensors and actuators ● Smaller control cabinets due to the lack of I/O modules ● Rapid installation ● Plug-in methods allows sensors and actuators to be connected without errors ● Signals are mapped in the PLC in the same way as for standard I/O modules ● Comprehensive range of diagnosis options covering even individual modules ● Modules can be replaced while the system is live BENEFITS Introduction Benefits

    • Unique shape ensures proper wiring in the modules
    • Cable designed to withstand harsh industry atmosphere
    • Signal send by modulating with power signal ,
    • hence EMI will affect less

  • 11. Properties of the AS-Interface cable ● The AS-Interface cable connects all the network nodes. ● The cable has two wires (ASI + and ASI -) and is unshielded. ● The trapezoidal profile with the profiled lug ensures a high degree of protection against polarity reversal (mechanical code). ● The shaped cable transfers data and power. • Line, star, tree as well as any other combination of topology configurations are possible.
    • The nodes can be connected at any point in the network.
    • Up to 62 slaves, one master can be connected to a network.
    • No shielding is required.
    • The total length of the cable is restricted to 100 m. A range of components (e.g. repeater, extension plug) are available for extending the maximum length of the cable.
    • The nodes receive their power supply via the same cable with a rated voltage of 24 V DC total current of up to 8 A.

Masters for SIMATIC S7 Breakdown Service Masters for SIMATIC S7 300 The CP 343-2/ P is the AS-i master module) for the S7-300 and for the ET 200M distributed I/O device Status LEDs on the front panel of the communications processor (CP) indicate the status of the AS-i master and the operational readiness of the slaves. The CP 343-2/ P can be used in AS-i Power24V networks. The AS-i master controls data exchange with the connected nodes by means of cyclic polling. During a cycle, four data bits are exchanged with each slave in both the input and output direction. Components

  • 20. Remote unit IE/AS I link AMC In addition to the direct connection, the AS-Interface can also be used on a distributed basis as feeders for higher-level bus systems.. The module has got profibus interface and act as profibus slave and also as asi master module Components
  • 21. DP/AS-i LINK Advanced AMC The DP/AS-i LINKs Advanced are a PROFIBUS DPV1-slave and AS-i master This allows data to be transparently accessed on AS-Interface from PROFIBUS DP. It is either available as single or double master Ideally suited for distributed architectures and to connect an AS-Interface network to higher-level bus systems. Components
  • 22. Retrofit
    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E connects PROFIBUS DP to AS-Interface.
    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E is both a PROFIBUS DP slave und AS-Interface master.
    • An additional power supply is not required as the power is taken from the AS-Interface cable.
    • Commissioning times are also reduced as engineering is as simple as pressing a button.
    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E permits configuring of the AS-Interface network in STEP7 (from V5.2) requiring no additional software.

  • 24. Slave module Training Up to 62 standard slaves or 31 safe slaves can be connected to one AS-i network. The bandwidth of our AS-i Slaves ranges from simple I/O modules up to motor starters and frequency converters . Modules with 8 inputs or 4 outputs are available (depending on the design, the sensors are supplied with power either from the yellow AS-i cable or the black U aux cable). Slave Modules
  • 26. The power supply units generate a regulated DC voltage of 24 V or 30 V They are an integral component of the AS-Interface network and allow data and power to be transferred simultaneously on one cable in connection with data decoupling. Slave module Slave Modules
