    • ASI stands for Actuator Sensor Interface
    • AS-Interface is an open, vendor-independent bus system.
    • Actuators and sensors are connected to the controller via an unshielded 2-wire line – which simultaneously transfers data and power.
    • The basis of each system include:-
        • The master
        • Power supply unit
        • Various standard and safe slaves

Properties of the AS-Interface cable ● The AS-Interface cable connects all the network nodes. ● The cable has two wires (ASI + and ASI -) and is unshielded. ● The trapezoidal profile with the profiled lug ensures a high degree of protection against polarity reversal (mechanical code). ● The shaped cable transfers data and power.     • The nodes receive their power supply via the same cable with a rated voltage of 24 V DC total current of up to 8 A.

    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E connects PROFIBUS DP to AS-Interface.
    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E is both a PROFIBUS DP slave und AS-Interface master.
    • An additional power supply is not required as the power is taken from the AS-Interface cable.
    • Commissioning times are also reduced as engineering is as simple as pressing a button.
    • The DP/AS-i Link 20E permits configuring of the AS-Interface network in STEP7 (from V5.2) requiring no additional software.
