  2. 2. INTRODUCTION The traffic in the city is increasing day by day due to population improper town planning which is making city not fit to live .We need to provide a solution for this by providing improved transportation technique
  3. 3. HEAVY TRAFFIC IN THE CITY
  4. 4. The solution for this are: • Follow the existing roads but should take very less space • Have rail based mass transit capacity • Does not divide city • Does not derail and no capsizing of coches • Free from vandalism • Noise free & pollution free
  5. 5. SKYBUS METRO Skybus metro: Skybus metro is the new rail System which consists of an elevated track with car suspended below the track

  7. 7. Description: • Heavy 60 kg /m rails placed at standard gauge held in a 8m X 2m Concrete box enclosure. • They are are supported over a 1m dia. Columns spaced @ distance of 15-20m • The height of column must be min of 8m

  15. 15. Sky bogies • It consists of two axel bogies • It is incorporated with the bogies of 3 phase alternating current motors with regenerative power capability • Disk brakes • Emergency mechanical break
  16. 16. Sky coaches • Double walled light shells with large windows are suspended from the sky bogies • Air conditioned and automatic doors • Audio visual information to passengers
  17. 17. Sky station • The skybus requires small sky stations • Totally automated without drivers or guards and access control is also electronic by prepaid cards being swiped in
  18. 18. Traverser • There are no points and crossings. • This is the system which will automatically shifts the skybus units for balancing the loads or change in routes too as well.
  19. 19. Why Sky Bus saves 50% to 75% in costs! • Conventional railway provides for heavy steel coaches to protect people from derailments and capsizing. So carry more steel and dead weight instead of people. • With total weight of 48T, a railway can carry only 70 persons in 20 m length • Sky Bus has no such problem; no derailment hence uses very light weight coaches and carries more people using much less dead weight • Sky Bus with the same weight & length carries 300 persons comfortably
  20. 20. CAPITAL INVESTMENT • Sources: The approximate construction cost for skybus is about 45-50 corers/km • But for metro it costs about 230 corers and for underground metro it costs about 398-400 corers

SKYBUS IN NEAR FUTURE After the successful test run of the skybus on its track built in Goa (Margaon).The Indian railways has recognized its work efficiency and found it as future Mass transit system in the urban areas. The skybus is proposed by Indian railways in India in following cities Hyderabad , Pune , Mumbai, Bangalore ,Chennai , Delhi, etc.

CONCLUSION • Ultimately life is more precious than any other thing hence we need to give safer transportation facility along with it economy also play important role. • Skybus is an improved railway technology , eliminates the problem of city suffering from heavy traffic. • Pollution free & Noise free transportation.
