Today’s Project: “Lighting Bugs in a Bottle”
Our Goal: to make a
digital lighting bugs in a
bottle
How to make the
lighting bugs?
We will use LEDs!
• LED (Light-emitting
diode) is an electronic
light source
• Many LEDs in our life
(TV, traffic lights, ...)
• You can select colors of
the bugs :)
How to supply the
electricity?
We will use Coin
batteries!
• Voltage: 3V
• Small enough to insert
into the bottle
We will use a glass
bottle
• A small and transparent
bottle
On the other hands,
What is the story of
this project?
We are traveling in a countryside at night. We meet
many lighting bugs!
we extend our arms to them softly,
so we take them in the hands.
Finally, we look them in our hands
In terms of digital technology,
the device will aware our hands.
Then, automatically, LEDs will be turned
on.
How to aware our
hands?
We will use CDS!
• CdS (Cadmium sulfide)
• A photo-resistor or light
dependent resistor
• When we wrap the
bottle, the light will
decrease!
Last question:
Who control these
things?
