Identity Theft: Refers to all types of crimes in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person’s personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain. How can this happen?

  • 5. 3) Identity Theft  The most common and most devastating danger that comes with shopping online is identity theft.  Perpetrators can hack into security systems and target an individual directly by steal debit and credit card information.  Another way of identity theft is when data breach occurs and your personal information is exposed.
