Excellent pvc plastic manufacturers
1. How Do PVC Plastic Manufacturers Make PVC
When you start thinking about how PVC is made, the first thing you need to know is exactly what it
is. PVC, or poly vinyl chloride to give it the full title is a synthetic plastic polymer which can be
either rigid or it can be flexible. PVC is the third most commonly used type of synthetic plastic
polymer and is used in the production of thousands of different products in the world today.
So what do PVC plastic manufacturers do?
PVC is manufactured using a chemical process which involves the simplest unit (aka the monomer)
and linking countless of the monomer molecules together using a process of polymerisation.
Polymers are long molecular chains.
This PVC can then be used in the manufacture of many different products. Global demand for PVC is
in excess of 35 million tons every year with a growth of around +5% annually. I know that those
figures are difficult to imagine but the sheer enormity of it can give you some idea.
So why is PVC so popular and well used?
Well, it is safe for one thing, it is comfortable, easy to work with and pleasurable.
PVC is used to coat wires and cables which prevents dangerous and potentially fatal accidents with
electrical supplies. Medical tubing made from PVC is used in hospitals all over the world because it
will not kink or break and can deliver a steady flow of medicines and fluids to sick people. PVC is
used in the manufacture of cars because it is incredibly strong and can reduce the risk of injury in
case of accidents.
PVC is also very long lasting and does not decay. This means that many products which have been
manufactured using PVC will be able to last for fifty or even sixty years into the future without the
need for repair, maintenance or replacement. PVC is used on the underside of modern cars to
protect from corrosion and water which not only makes them last much longer but also much safer
in the case of an accident.
PVC is both functional and beautiful. It can be used to make visually striking products from furniture
to fashions as well as a myriad of outdoor and indoor accessories.
So what do PVC plastics manufacturers do? Well, they make all of the millions of products we take
for granted every day which enhance our lives.
