  • 2. The time before Christmas…
  • 3. Advent Advent starts always onfourth Sunday before 24th December
  • 4. Christmas cardsBefore Christmas we send Christmas cards to our friends and family
  • 5. We decorateChristmas trees
  • 6. We also decorate our houses and gardens
  • 7. Mangers/Crib s are prepared atchurches andcity markets
  • 8. 24th December Christmas Eve
  • 9. Christmas Eve is a family holiday. Family members gather around the Christmas table.A spare place is left for an unexpected guest.
  • 10. On Christmas Eve, we wait for the first star to start our supper.
  • 11. During the supper we share wafer called „opłatek”
  • 12. We put some hay under atablecloth. It reminds us thatJesus was bornin a stable.
  • 13. On Christmas Eve we eat vegetarian dishes. We traditionally serve 12dishes during the supper 
  • 14. We sing Christmas carols.
  • 15. Santa Claus comeson Christmas Eve…
  • 16. And leaves us presents underthe Christmas tree
  • 17. People attend the night mass called „Pasterka”
  • 18. The following days of Christmas 25th December – Christmas Day 26th December – Saint Stephen Day
  • 19. CAROLLERSChildren go from door todoor and sing Christmas carols.
  • 20. We spend time with our families and friends
  • 21. The EpiphanyThe end ofChristmas isconsidered to beon6th January
  • 22. Merry Christmas andA Happy New Year 2013!
