It was born in 1986 upon mixed initiative and by financing of the: City Councils of Florence and Prato, Chambers of Commerce of Florence and Prato, Foundation Cassa di Risparmio Trade Associations of the territory, as well as in collaboration with the: Fashion Institute of Technology of the State Uni- versity of New York.

Open day are fully dedicated to present polimoda‘s activities through members of faculty’s and entrepreneurs speeches, case histories and workshop. Mini-stages give potential students the chance to attend some of the classesthey are interested into.

It is the main source of informa- tion, research and inspiration of those who frequent the Centre, whether it is for work, study or interest.
