  • 9. Fort Drum FamilyAs many of us are aware there are Soldiers in ourFormation whose families are in medical need ofa donor; of either blood or bone marrow. Pleasehelp us take a stand against these curable dis-eases. Let us take care of our Battles both in theformation and those that stay home to watch ourbacks.Only 30% of the people who need a bone marrowtransplant will find a donor in time. It can take upto 8 to 10 weeks to process a new register. Letsget these donations in. HHBN is working with theC.W. Bill Young Bone Marrow Donor Center tomake the process as easy as that two mile run.On the 30th and 31st of May 2013 from 0900-1600 we are asking you to stop in to the USOhere on Fort Drum, 10502 S Riva Ridge LoopFort Drum, NY 13602 (315)777-8006, to spendten minutes filling out a form, and getting fourcheek swabs. That is all it takes to become apotential bone marrow donor.
  • 10. Updates regarding passing pedestrians and driving on Fort Drum1. PT Hour remains 0700-08302. Motorist must slow to 10 MPH when passing Soldiers/pedestrians during the PTHour ONLY3. Motorist my slow to 10 MPH when passing Soldiers in formation anytime of the day.4. The 10 MPH rule when passing Soldiers/pedestrians other than the PT Hour is re-scinded. Motorist will use caution and current vehicle and traffic law pertaining topedestrians/vehicles is the rule of the day.5. North Riva Ridge; portion between Mt. Belvedere and the entrance to building10100 is co-use to allow DRM and G-8 personnel access to their facility.

South Riva Ridge; portion between Mt Belvedere and the entrance to DivisionAnnex buildings is co-use to allow PAO and other civilian workers to access theirfacility.7. Lewis Ave; the portion between 1st Street West to Euphrates River Valley is co-use to allow access to court (0800 is when that starts)8. Po Valley from Conway to South Riva Ridge is a NO PT AREA9. Conway/1st Street West from Enduring Freedom to Nash Blvd is a NO PT AREA10.The entire length of Nash Blvd is a NO PT AREA11.As with current policy, all “official” government plated vehicles will be allowed toaccess to PT ONLY routes for the conduct of their normal business/mission.
