  • 9. 4Ps OBJECTIVES 1. To improve preventive health care among pregnant women and young children

  • 13. Criteria in the Selection of HouseholdsEligible households are: Residents of the poorest municipalities 1 based on 2003 Small Area Estimates (SAE) of NSCBThe poorest households are selected through a Proxy Means Test (PMT)which determines the socio-economic category of families.

  • 18. Program Package4Ps provides conditional cash grants to beneficiaries, throughLandbank cash card, to wit:

Program Package Health and Nutrition Grant P6,000 per year or P500 per month per household Education P3,000 per year or P300 per month per child for 10 months a year, to a maximum of 3 children per householdA household with three qualified children receives a subsidy of P1,400/month during theschool year or P15,000 annually as long as they comply with the conditionalities
  • 20. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) HEALTH AND NUTRITION • Pregnant Household Member – pre- and post-natal care. – avail of appropriate delivery services by a skilled health professional
  • 21. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) HEALTH AND NUTRITION – avail at least one post-natal care within 6 weeks after childbirth
  • 22. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) HEALTH AND NUTRITION • Children 0-5 Years Old – avail immunization – monthly weight monitoring and nutrition counseling for children aged 0-2 years old – quarterly weight monitoring for 25 to 73 weeks old – management of childhood diseases for sick children
  • 23. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) HEALTH AND NUTRITION • Children 6-14 Years Old – must receive deworming pills twice a year
  • 24. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) EDUCATION Children 3-5 years old – enrolled in day care or pre-school program and maintain a class attendance rate of at least 85% per month
  • 25. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) EDUCATION Children 6-14 years old – enrolled in elementary and secondary school and maintain a class attendance rate of at least 85% per month
  • 26. 4Ps Conditionalities(Co-Responsibilities of Household Beneficiaries) FAMILY DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS Parents or Guardians - attend family development sessions at least once a month - ensure attendance in Responsible Parenthood Sessions and Family Counseling Sessions - participate in community activities, promote and strengthen the implementation of 4Ps
