  • Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  • "YOUR HABITS LEAD YOU TO YOUR DESTINY"
  • A. WHAT IS A HABIT ? A settled tendency or usual manner of behavior  A behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition or physiologic exposure that shows  Itself in regularity or increased facility of performance  A way of acting fixed through repetition  Implies a doing unconsciously and compulsively  From Greek word " ethos " 
  • B. THREE TYPES OF HABITS WE POSSESS
  • 1. BAD HABITS  A BAD HABIT Hosea 5:4 They couldn't turn to God if they wanted to. Their evil life is a bad habit. Every breath they take is a whore's breath. They wouldn't recognize GOD if they saw me.
  • 1. BAD HABITS  STOP THE HABIT OF SAYING FALSE THINGS Zechariah 8:17 Do not make evil plots to harm each other. And stop this habit of swearing to things that are false. I hate all these things, says the LORD."
  • 1. BAD HABITS  BAD HABIT OF NOT LISTENING Hebrews 5:11 I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you've picked up this bad habit of not listening.
  • 1. BAD HABITS  OLD SINFUL HABIT 1Peter 4:1 Since Jesus went through everything you're going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your
  • 1. BAD HABITS  HABIT OF GOSSIPPING IDLENESS AND 1Timothy 5:13 Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.

  • 3. GOOD HABITS  MAKE PRAISE YOUR HABIT Psalm 64:10 (TMSG) Be glad, good people! Fly to GOD! Good-hearted people, make praise your habit.
  • 3. GOOD HABITS  HABIT OF PRAYER Acts 10:3 (TMSG) He was a thoroughly good man. He had led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, was always helping people in need, and had the habit of prayer.
  • 3. GOOD HABITS  HABIT OF DAILY MEDITATION OF GOD'S WORDS Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
  • C. 7 THINGS TO DO TO ACQUIRE GOOD HABITS FOR YOUR SUCCESS Romans 12:13 (NLT) When God's children are in need, be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging, for the night.
  • 1. IDENTIFY AND SURRENDER BAD, UNBENEFICIAL HABITS TO REMOVE AND OVERCOME 1Corinthians 6:12 (NIV) "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything.

  • 2. REPLACE BAD HABITS WITH GOOD HABITS 3. DO A 40-DAY PROGRAM WITH DAILY MONITORING 4. GET PEOPLE TO HELP YOU WHO CAN CHECK AND ENCOURAGE YOU.
  • 5. PRAY FOR THESE HABITS. FAST IF NECESSARY FOR BONDAGES Mark 9:28-29 v.28After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" v.29He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer.[2]"
  • 6. MEMORIZE RELATED BIBLICAL VERSES Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who

GET FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR EMPOWERMENT TO SUCCEED Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
  • CONCLUSION:  YOU ARE DESTINED TO GREATNESS !  YOU ARE DESTINED TO HAVE A GREAT 2014  POSSESS GREAT HABITS AND SEE YOURSELF BECOME GREAT FOR GOD'S GLORY
