The rebel Slovak partisan forcesconsisted 60,000 soldiers, plus 18,000 partisansfrom over 30 countries, likeRussia, Poland, Czech, France, Bulgaria, etc, The Slovak forcesweredefeated by NaziGermany on October 28 1944 and, guerrillawarfarecontinueduntilthe Soviet Armyoccupied Slovakia in 1945.
Thefamousmemorialplaceisthe Monument of Slovak NationalUprising in Banská Bystrica, wherethecelebrationstakeplaceevery August.
